Comparison

Framecast vs FocuSee

Framecast and FocuSee both aim to make screen videos easier to watch. Both offer automatic zooms, so the decision needs more than a feature checklist. Try the same recording task and compare the result.

Where FocuSee fits

FocuSee is available for Windows and Mac. Its site highlights automatic zooms, cursor effects and layouts for recorded videos. If you need a recording workflow across those platforms, include that in your decision. Read FocuSee's product details.

Where Framecast fits

Framecast is a native Mac app. It zooms around the controls you click, follows typing and lets you change the camera layout after recording. You can edit through the transcript, add captions and review suggested blurs for private information.

If you make software demos, a useful test is to open a dialog, type into a field and move to another part of the app. Check whether the camera gives viewers enough context at each step. Automatic editing still needs a final watch-through.
