Something not working? Copy your diagnostic info, find your recordings in Finder, and write to us. License questions are answered on your account page.

Copy your diagnostic info

With a Framecast window in front, such as the library, choose Help › Copy Diagnostic Info. Framecast copies a short report and shows “Diagnostic info copied”. Paste it into your message to us.

The report lists your Framecast and macOS versions, your Mac’s model, memory and graphics, your displays, which permissions are on, the names of your cameras and microphones, and where your library is. It has nothing from your recordings.

Each project also keeps a short recording log: your Mac’s model, the camera and microphone you used, and how the recording went. It never has what you typed, window titles or your files. It helps us if you write to us about a recording. The log stays on your Mac and is left out of projects you share.

Find your recordings

Choose Help › Show Library Folder to open your library in Finder. It’s in your Movies folder, under Framecast, unless you moved it in Settings › General › Library folder.

In Finder, each project shows a picture of its video. Select one and press Space to see it bigger with Quick Look. New recordings get their picture right away; an older project gets one the next time you open it in the editor.

If Framecast quit while you were recording, see Recovered recordings. If a project opens with a note about its edits, see Backups of your edits.
