Interactive demo

Turn a recording into a click-through demo. The video stops at each step until the viewer clicks the highlighted spot, all in one folder for any website.

How it works

Framecast finds every click and bit of typing in your video. In the demo, the video plays up to each step, stops, highlights where to click and says what to do. The viewer clicks the spot, or presses → or Return, and the video plays on to the next step. At the end they can replay it.

Acme Store — a real interactive demo exported from Framecast. Press Start, then click the highlighted spots.

Export a demo

  1. In the Export window, click Interactive demo… next to Also. You can also press ⌘K and choose Export interactive demo…, or click Click-through demo… on the Publish tab.
  2. Check the steps Framecast lists, then click Export….
  3. Name the demo’s folder and choose where to save it.
  4. When it’s done, click Open in browser to try it.

The steps are the same ones Framecast writes for a step-by-step guide. They name what to click when Framecast had Accessibility permission while you recorded.

Put it online

The folder holds a page called index.html and the video, with its sound. Open index.html in any browser to try it; it works offline too.

To share it, upload the whole folder to any web host, your own website included, and send people its address. You can also show it inside another page with an iframe, like the demo above.
