Re-record narration
Fix a sentence without recording the whole video again. Mark the part, speak over it, and your new take replaces what you said there.
Record over one part
- Mark the part you want to redo: press R for the Range tool and drag across it on the timeline, or press I and O at its start and end. See Ranges.
- The Clip tab opens. Under Narration, click Re-record narration.
- After a countdown (“Recording in 3…”), Framecast plays that part with the sound off, so your old voice doesn’t end up in the new take. Speak your new lines as it plays.
- Recording stops by itself at the end of the part. To stop sooner, click Done or press ↩.
Framecast mutes the sound you recorded in that part and puts your new take in its place. You’ll see “New narration in place”, and the take appears on the Voice lane.
Before you start
- Narration only shows for recordings with a microphone.
- Framecast needs to use your microphone. If it can’t, turn it on in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone.
- Changed your mind during the countdown? Click Cancel. Nothing is recorded.
Undo or adjust it
Press ⌘Z to bring back the original sound in one step. To keep the new take but change it, click its block on the Voice lane. Its card on the AI Voiceover tab reads “Your voice, re-recorded” and has its own Volume slider. You can drag the block along the lane like any AI voiceover.
